Inclusive design is essentially selecting ironmongery which offers the greatest ease of use and the least difficulty for all users.
Because of the many different applications for a door, there is often confusion on which type of handles or combinations of door furniture to use. This is not helped by the fact that some publications give conflicting advice.
In general, doors must be as easy to use for as many people as possible and badly designed, positioned or fitted hardware will exclude some people from opening or closing the door easily and independently.
